FAQs
I/my child is new to rugby. What do I need to know?
Rugby is a fast growing and exciting sport for people of all ages. We have programs for players from under 5 years old to 55+. We welcome players of all backgrounds and experience, and offer a range of competition levels. We practice 1 or 2 times a week depending on the team, and our practice fields are at Inland Athletic Park in the NW. Games are typically on the weekends at CRU in the SE. The game schedules are set by the CRU and we will post them when they are available.
I’m not sure if rugby is for me/my child quite yet. What do I do if I’m not ready to commit for an entire season?
We offer short term registrations including 72 hour and 2 week options. If you decide to stick with us, you will pay a prorated rate to adjust for those options.
I really want to play but finances are tight right now. Is there any financial help available?
We do offer installment payment options at checkout, as well as student rates for any players currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution for our senior teams. We also offer a number of fundraising initiatives throughout the year that players can participate in to help offset the cost of registration.
How do I register?
All registrations are done through Rugby Canada’s Sport Lomo portal - the website is rugbycanada.sportlomo.com
From there, select the province (Alberta), and the team (Calgary Saracens). Another drop down menu will appear with the list of possible registration options. Our minis/juniors registrations also specify the birth date ranges for registering those players.
I’m not able to be an active player right now but I still want to be involved. What options do I have?
Rugby is all about community and the Saracens are no different! We do offer a social member registration option that allows for voting rights during AGMs and special meetings.
Even if you aren’t able to join as a social member, we want to see you at our events!
